Downtown Los Angeles has long been and continues to be an area that many visitors avoid. Frankly, I wasn’t a great admirer of it and preferred other parts of the city.
However there are some exciting activities and sights to see.
Before I go into my personal favorites, here’s a tip: if you’re flying into LA and require a smooth journey downtown, you may use an airport transfer service from LAX. They make sure you arrive comfortably and are eager to explore!
And now let’s have a look at what I believe are the top things to do in downtown LA.

1. The Last Bookstore
The first place on my list is The Last Bookstore, one of the world’s best bookstores. Despite being California’s largest bookstore for both old and new books, the ambiance inside is cozy and calm.
The Last Bookstore has something for everyone, whether you enjoy fantasy books, love novels, or nonfiction literature.
You may also find a variety of recordings, and if you want to sell your old books, you can do so at the store.
Whereas the main floor appears to be a typical store, as soon as you take the stairs to the higher story, you’ll find yourself in a veritable maze of shelves. The exciting labyrinth includes a book-made tunnel and a spy hole.
Be careful, or you’ll become lost among hundreds of bookcases!
2. Historic Bradbury Building
The historic Bradbury Building gained popularity as a result of the science-fiction picture “Blade Runner” being filmed there.
Although the five-story office building is open to the public, using the elevators or stairs to ascend is not permitted.
Fortunately, there is no need to do so because you can see the amazing atrium with its distinctive walkways from the ground floor.
The Bradbury Building is an incredible structure, so a quick visit is definitely a good thing to do in downtown Los Angeles.
3. Grand Central Market
Have you ever been to a city that didn’t have a food market? I doubt that is even conceivable. As a result, it’s no surprise that the next thing you should do in downtown Los Angeles is eat wonderful food at Grand Central Market.
A wide variety of international cuisine is available to accommodate everyone’s tastes, from sticky mango rice and Mexican tortillas to eggslut.

4. The World’s Shortest Railway
Angels Flight Railway, the world’s smallest railroad, and a renowned city attraction, is located just a stone’s throw from Grand Central Market.
The railway had been shuttered for more than 30 years before reopening in August 2017 after being utilized as a filming set for the film “La La Land”.
The brief ride between Hill Street and Grand Avenue costs only $1 each way, and if you have a TAP Card, you receive a $0.50 discount. It doesn’t cost much, and you can cross the world’s shortest train off your bucket list!
5. Walt Disney Concert Hall
The Walt Disney Concert Hall is one of Los Angeles’ most impressive architectural wonders. It was designed by architect Frank Gehry, whose goal was to ensure the best sound within the structure.
As a result, he chose to build a performance hall with unusually shaped walls rather than the typical straight walls. As a result, some people report that the sound in the main hall transports them to a violin.
